The Dermatitis Herpetiformis Online Community is closed

It is with regret that I've finally reached a decision to take down this web site.

I originally set up the DHOC to ‘help bring fellow DH sufferers together to offer encouragement and support’. However, for some time now, I've been concerned that, rather than sharing with and encouraging each other, posters on the message board have been using it as a place to push their own agenda. In addition, a proportion of the discussions have been presented as sound ‘advice’ when not substantiated by the medical profession and I do not wish to offer a resource where any confusion could potentially be detrimental to people’s health.Coupled with this, I have little time or inclination to police the board to some people’s liking, even to the point where my admin / moderation role has been questioned once or twice. I no longer wish to endure site visitors’ complaints about each other, either on the board or directly to me.

I've put in a lot of hours and hard work in creating and maintaining the site over the past 7½ years and feel saddened that a few individuals have spoiled these efforts and I am now no longer motivated to keep the DHOC going.
