Home / Welcome
It seems there are a lot of resources
available for coeliac / celiac disease sufferers but not so much specifically
for those with dermatitis herpetiformis. Obviously, the two conditions are very
closely related but the facilities on this site are primarily for DH matters.
You can navigate the site by using the
Side Menu on the left of the browser window. Just run your mouse over the
menu bar. The pages can also be viewed from the Site
Map page, via the Quick
Menu (your
browser needs to be enabled for javascript) or by entering keywords in the
DHOC Site Search box. You can easily return to this page by clicking the
main DHOC banner above, or by choosing the 'Home' link wherever you see
it on this site.

Background
I was diagnosed with DH in 1978 at the age of
15. I found that, after 24
years of living with the condition, I didn't know anyone else who had it.
Although it seems to be more common today than when I was first diagnosed, DH is
still relatively rare and can leave people feeling isolated. In March 2001, I decided to set up
this web site to help bring fellow sufferers together to offer
encouragement and support. I hope you find this online community useful.
Best wishes to you all.

Due to the high volume of emails that I have been receiving
(I run this site on a voluntary basis in my 'spare time'), please can I ask
you to use the discussion forums for any
individual questions you might
have about DH. I visit the forums regularly but this will also give
others the
opportunity to help out too. Many thanks!
